My story as a Wind Energy Consultant
My wind energy journey began in January 2012. I was still under 30 and after a brief experience in the oil & gas industry, I knew that I needed a career that was sustainable for the planet. As an engineer with experience in the energy field, renewable energy was a natural choice.
At that time, Alstom Wind was launching its offshore wind program, and I was onboarded as an Offshore Sales & Tender Manager. That was the first of many roles I held at WTG OEMs: including leading project execution as an EPC Project Direct or driving contract negotiations as South Europe Commercial Leader.
How I Got Here?
Back in 2009, while working in the Oil and Gas industry, I spent two years in Indonesia, on Borneo Island. There, I witnessed firsthand the devastating impact of coal mining on the primary forest. It was a wake-up call that led me to shift my career toward renewable energy.
In January 2012, I joined Alstom Wind as an Offshore Sales & Tender Manager, just as the company launched its offshore wind program with the Haliade 150-6MW. This marked the beginning of my journey in the wind energy sector, a sector in which I have continuously expanded my expertise since then.
During my time at Alstom Wind and GE Renewable Energy, I had the opportunity to work across diverse geographies and roles, from EPC Project Director in Turkey to Commercial Leader in Southern Europe.
Throughout my career, one constant has been Contracts: whether in negotiation, management, or execution. Having worked on both the project execution side and the commercial side, I bring a comprehensive understanding of the full contract lifecycle, ensuring that agreements are not only well-negotiated but also realistically executable.
More recently, I launched my own consulting initiative – Maymard Partners – to leverage over a decade of commercial experience at leading wind turbine OEM. This boutique consultancy is intentionally very specialized, focusing solely on Contracts & Procurement for Wind Energy.
